Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of technically challenging, high risk research and consultancy projects and strategic development programmes which meet the exacting requirements of our customers. Typical research projects are up to 3 years in duration and worth between £1m to £5m.
Reporting to the Head of Project Management, you will take a leading role in the delivery of bids, proposals and project management (including involvement in commercial negotiations). You will help build the professional capabilities of the wider project management team and leverage your experience to improve bid and project management processes.
You will have relevant experience and understanding of the processes and principles for project, programme and risk management, in a commercial environment. You will have demonstrated an in-depth understanding of commercial and financial management and key processes. This experience will be underpinned by a good university honours degree in a STEM/technically demanding discipline, and recognised qualifications in project and programme management.
You will have demonstrated leadership skills in a technical project-based environment and have a successful track record of delivering a portfolio of complex projects within challenging time, quality and cost constraints. You will possess strong influencing skills, and be comfortable managing international customers from different cultural backgrounds as well as diverse and demanding internal stakeholders.
