HRH Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh
ARA was saddened to learn of the death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Philip was the longest-serving Royal Consort in history and his loss will be felt deeply by Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal Family and the Nation.
Prince Philip was a great advocate for British engineering, science and technology and visited ARA twice. In 1956 he officially opened ARA for business following its conception and construction over the previous 4 years. With his lifelong passion for innovation, he returned again in 2002 to commemorate ARA’s 50th anniversary.
Throughout his life, His Royal Highness demonstrated the highest standards of selflessness conducting himself with dignity, integrity and provided inspiration to many.
